Default P/D Build: Scythagon

Profession: Paragon/Dervish
Name: Scythagon
Type: PvE
Category: Damage
Attributes: Leadership 16, Scythe Mastery 12, Command 4

Skills Set:
Irresistible Sweep
Victorious Sweep
Go For the Eyes
Burning Finale
They're on Fire
Soldier's Fury {E}
Leader's Comfort
Sig of Return

Summary: Use a zealous scythe. Go for the Eyes should provide 8e allowing you to spam both sweeps. Burning Finale will trigger often for some additional degen on foes.

Alternate version: Since Aggressive Refrain is not an elite it could be used instead of Soldier's Fury allowing for this alternate build.

Leadership 14, Scythe 12, Earth Prayers 8, Command 3

Wounding Strike {E}
Victorious Sweep
Go For the Eyes
Burning Refrain
They're on Fire
Aggressive Refrain
Aura of Thorns
Leader's Comfort/Rez

Use Wounding Strike without Aura of Thorns to cause bleeding. Then cast Aura of Thorns and use Wounding Strike again for deep wound. The rest is the same as the build above.

Centurion's Insignia will keep your armor at 90 since They're on Fire will be on you pretty much all the time.

Any comments about which build you like better and why would be appreciated.

Why not use an Assassin Dervish with already high critical strikes to give critical hits and return energy? I tried that and used Sharpen Daggers to make them bleed while my Wounding Strike gave them a deep wound and I had Dash for Kiters. It wasn't bad.

I hope you saw that I said my build was for PvE.

1. Bleeding = 6 DPS, Burning = 14 DPS.

2. Para has higher armor (90 AL vs. all with Centurion's Insignia).

3. Go for the Eyes increases critical dmg chance for all allies (including pets and minions).

4. Both para build have an IAS which really helps given the low attack speed of the scythe.

5. They're on Fire reduces dmg I take from adjacent foes by 53% making me a great tank.

You also don't list your build and attributes, but given that there are no healing skills in Critical Strikes, you have to put attribute pts into a 3rd attribute line thus lowering your critical chances.

I don't run into energy problems with a P/D b/c I use a zealous scythe and gain 8e from GFTE (which charges every two swings if I'm hitting 2 enemies). Given that the chance to critical against higher level enemies is very low, critical strikes will be rare and therefore will not net you energy often.

So the reason I don't use an A/D is because I can do higher DPS with my P/D. I'm able to continually spam my two scythe attacks with no energy problems.

I don't need to add skills for my build, it's simply Chilling Victory, Wounding Strike, Sharpen Daggers, Reap Impurities or Ermite's Attack with Dash and a Rez and Victorious Sweep pref. or Death's CHarge. Your high critical strikes make sure you never run out of energy and with Sharpen Daggers as your enchantment, your WOunding Strike does a deep wound while Sharpen Daggers triggers bleeding as well for -3degen along with deep wound and constant critical hits. Not that difficult to figure out...

This isn't the assassin subforum.
This is the paragon subforum.

Your build is quite interesting, Joe. I've been wanting to make a melee paragon for a while, hadn't even thought about a dervish secondary though I might try this now!
